When
playing craps, make sure you take the following
craps tips into consideration:
1. It is always a smart idea to watch how the
bets are placed and learn a little bit about how
the layout of the table is set up. This may also
be a good time to take notice and learn what the
payouts may be for the winning bets.
2. Playing craps is easy as there are only 2 very
simple bets to make. Either you play the "pass
line" or "don't pass". Betting
with the shooter is known as the "pass line"
and betting against him is known as "don't
pass".
3. With a "pass line bet" you lose if
the shooter rolls a 2, a 3 or a 12 and you win
if he rolls a 7 or an 11. In both cases the shooter
keeps the dice to roll again until he rolls a
seven and the bet is finally lost or he gets his
point and you both win.
4. As can be expected the rules in a "don't
pass" bet is the exact opposite of a "pass
line" bet. One excetption is if the shooter
rolls a 12 on the first roll of the dice. This
scenario is known as a "standoff" and
nobody wins or loses.
5. A more complicated bet is the "come line"
bet and this is not a populat bet with beginners.
On the first roll of the dice the rules are the
same, if however the next roll brings up a 7 then
you win, if it's a 2 or a 3 or a 12 then you lose.
You get a "come point" if it's another
number and it must be rolled before a 7 is rolled
in order for you to win. You will lose if a 7
is rolled first.
6. The final tip is to be sure to play at a table
with a denomination of your choice.
